Giving Thanks-(Week 18)

This week I’m learning to give thanks in everything. Although my struggles continue I give thanks to the bad things in my life.

With gratitude I’m able to lock on my faith and lock out fear by the help of The Master Key Experience.

Fear not, only believe.

I’m so excited to be applying my knowledge daily by using the Law of Growth. What we think about grows. What we forget atrophies.

My light is drawn out and illuminating. Let my light shine as I continue to evolve, learn to forgive and thank God for my bountiful blessings while giving thanks and joy.

Heroes Journey (Week 17 HJ)

What is the heroes journey? I keep pondering this question over and over in my mind.  I remember starting this course and being on fire with the exercises and just loving the vitality and happiness I was experiencing.

Then my world collapsed when I tore my left rotator cuff while training with my Fire Department using 65 lb cutting tools as we tore apart a vintage BMW.

I was ashamed and angry because being a Volunteer Fire Fighter was what defined me. People I knew said I was their hero. My high school friends were amazed that I became a Fire Fighter at age 59. I’m the second oldest in my county to have taken the course and passed the state exam 3 years ago!

Since the accident I’ve been struggling to find a new purpose in my life.   I’ve decided to stop dwelling on the past and live for the present. I may be broken but I’m not defeated.

After all I must remember that “I’m nature’s greatest miracle.” Now I concentrate my energy on the challenges of the moment and my actions help me forget all else.

Phillipans 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

I can be what I will to be.

Playing = Happiness (Week 17)

I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy.

I’m so lucky and blessed beyond my wildest dreams as I was given extra time in my life after winning the battle of my life when my Dr. told me 20+ years ago that I was critically ill. The clergy came to my home to prepare me for death. I started writing my obituary and even picked out the hymns for my funeral.

Guess what? God wasn’t done with me yet. My work here on earth was not over yet.

I fought and continue to fight the good fight of faith and I’m not giving up. I was given an extra chance and won.

I became a victor and not a victim because I gave myself permission to be happy and playful. I started to take daily walks to the playground and would swing on the swings and hang off the monkey bars. I started living my life as a child again. I swam and surfed on my boogie boarded in the ocean and collected tons of beautiful “sea glass” while praying and asking God for a second chance at life.

I decided that if I stopped playing I would grow old and instead gave myself permission to be happy and to live each day as if it was my last.

I thank God for the miracle of healing and health and now enjoy playing and being happy with my precious grandson Eli.

Kindness = Love (Week 16)

Give more-Get more is what kindness is all about.

I really enjoyed all of the hugs I gave and received as my heart and soul were filled with pure joy.

As I secretly paid for breakfast for an elderly couple then received a hug from the waitress for completing her on her eyeshadow I was totally blown away by this experience.

I’ve always been an outwardly emotional person who wears her heart on her sleeve so giving and receiving kindness was really easy for me.

The wonderful people I encountered and the stories we shared will forever be etched in my heart.

How wonderful this World would be if we lived each day spreading and receiving love and kindness.

Franklin Makeover (week 15)

42a4d013-0db2-4105-a16a-827a386413b1When I first heard the term Franklin Makeover, I thought we were all getting $100. I was so excited because I desperately needed a hair cut and color. It’s been over a year since I’ve been to the hair salon.

Being a widow for almost 9 years and living on a fixed income I was enthusiastically extatic to call Allure Salon and make an appointment.

Of course I soon realized that The Franklin Makeover was not about improving my outside appearance but it was about working on my life’s virtues in order of what virtues I needed to improve the most.

I quickly put my numbers from 1-11 in the corresponding boxes noting the virtue I needed to improve the most at the top of the box and the virtue I needed to improve the least at the end. The instructions said week 2 and 13 will be filled for me.

The Master Key, Part Fifteen teaches me to get rid of the parasites because I must give up the difficulties, inharmonies, and obstacles that I no longer need and to accept what I require.

I’m working on my self-control and I’m realizing that I must “Recognize, Relate, Assimilate, and Apply” the principles of The Franklin Makeover to “Identify-Magnify-Multiply”as I understand that I’m working the “Law if Growth” and “Awareness is the beginning of change.”

Peace be the Journey (week 14)

I chose Cool Runnings as my movie to watch during our off week.  I’ve seen this movie several times before but  watching it after being a student of The Master Key Experience, I truly understand the impact this course and movie has made in my life.

“Rise above it and learn to believe in yourself” the lyrics to the opening song surely hit me hard. After all isn’t this what the Master Key Experience has been trying to teach me since week 1?

I love the humor and spirit of lazy, crazy, sorry, no good, bug a boo, Rasta Man Sanka the push cart champion even after his cart went flying off the course. He brushed off the dirt and got back up and smiled.

I felt so sad and sorry watching Derice Banack stumble and fall after a collision during  the qualifying run to represent Jamaica in the Olympics.

Derice enlists the help of a dishonored Bobsled Olympic champion Irving Blitzer who was striped of his medal for cheating by putting extra weights in the Bobsled at the XV Calgary, Alberta Canada Olympic Winter Games.

Irving played by John Candy didn’t want anything to do with starting a Jamaican bobsled team but Derice persisted and convinced Irving to manifest his dream of being in the Olympics. “Persistent practice produces perfect presentations!”

After adding sprinter Yul and affluent Junior Bevil the first Jamaican bobsled team became a reality.

The team started out as the laughing stock but because of their Team Spirit and healthy self-confidence they earned the respect they justly deserved.

I loved Junior looking in the mirror as Derice kept saying to him “tell me what do you see.” He saw pride and power because he finally realized it’s about what you tell “The Guy in the Glass” and not what others judgement upon you must pass.

The team competed and had a mishap with their sled after it broke during their final run. The team didn’t quit and carried their sled across the finish line. They were cheered and respected and realized that unity is strength.

This team took a deep look inside themselves and succeeded by using The Master Key principles of “I can be what I will to be.” The love they wanted they got and realized that if you work hard enough and want it, you will get it.

A gold medal is a wonderful thing but if you’re not enough without it, you’ll never be enough with it.

The team chipped away the cement that bound them, by believing that, gone are the dark clouds that had them down, because in the end they found their bright shining day. They all became the Hero in their Journey and found their golden selves.

The team was whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy.

The translation of Cool Runnings is Peace be the journey, and I thank Mark J. for giving me the chance to learn from your life’s journey.

I persist. I win (Week 13)

I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am God’s masterpiece.

Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Whatsoever things ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them.

I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy.

Consider it pure joy my Brothers and Sisters whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish it’s work so that you may be mature and complete and not lacking anything.

I am a harmonious and faithful traveler.

Thank you God. Thank you Roz. Thank you Lucinda. Thank you Lori E. Thank you Mark J.

Dreams come true.
